Immunogen

An amino acid sequence from the N-terminus of human RANK (QIAPPCTSEKHYEHLG) was used as the immunogen for this RANK antibody.

Properties

If you buy Antibodies supplied by NJS poly they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.

Species reactivity

Human (Homo sapiens) ; Due to limited knowledge and inability to test the antibody against all known species, we cannot guarantee that no other cross reactivity can occur.

Notes

The stated application concentrations are suggested starting amounts. Titration of the RANK antibody may be required due to differences in protocols and secondary/substrate sensitivity.

Storage

After reconstitution, the RANK antibody can be stored for up to one month at 4oC. For long-term, aliquot and store at -20 deg. Celcius or lower. Cycles of freezing and thawing can denaturate the peptide chains of the antibodies and reduce their sensitivity and/or change their affinity. Prepare aliqotes in such a manner so that freeze-thaw cycles are minimized. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Description

Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor K B, also known as TRANCE Receptor, is a type I membrane protein that is expressed on the surface of osteoclasts and is involved in their activation upon ligand binding. RANK is also expressed on dendritic cells and facilitates immune signaling. RANKL (Receptor Activator for Nuclear Factor K B Ligand) is found on the surface of stromal cells, osteoblasts, and T cells. By analysis of somatic cell and radiation hybrid panels, Anderson et al.(1997) mapped the RANK gene to 18q22.1.
